About Scott

I was born and raised near Columbus, Ohio, by a mother who taught me how to live life and a father who taught me how to love it. They raised me to treat everyone with respect, to never quit learning, to always experience as much as I could. Those lessons still guide me today.

In 2008, in the middle of the worst recession I hope to ever see, my business partner and I quit our comfortable jobs to chase our dreams of owning our own business. It wasn’t easy, but hard work and creativity have helped us grow Ante Up Poker Media LLC into a multi-faceted company with customers worldwide. The success we’ve enjoyed - and the arduous path it took to get there - have prepared me well for the challenges of city government.

And 16 years ago, I took one drive down Main Street and knew Safety Harbor was where I wanted my wife, Laura, and I to buy our first home. We still live in that same house in Harbor Woods Village.

I’ve been active in our wonderful community. When I was president of the Harbor Woods Village Homeowners Association, I used a positive message to bring our neighbors together. During my seven years as chairman of Safety Harbor’s Public Art Committee, we saw a wave of creativity take over our city as public and private art flourished. As a member of Safety Harbor’s Planning & Zoning Board and Board of Appeals, I’ve learned the complexities of our city code. As a member of the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce, I’ve seen the resolve of those who love doing business in our city. And as a graduate of the Safety Harbor Citizens Academy, I got a first-hand look at how our city operates in every way.

All of this life experience has served me well as a City Commissioner since March, and I know it will continue to serve me well over the next three years.
